How to elope in New York, Long Island, & South Florida.
-
What is an elopement, and how is it different from a wedding?
An elopement is an intimate, streamlined version of a wedding — no 200-person guest list, no cookie-cutter ballroom. At Pop-Up Vows, we define elopement as your marriage, your way: small guest counts (0–20), high-quality photography, a meaningful ceremony, and none of the stress. It’s about creating a luxury, personal moment instead of planning for the masses.

Where can I elope in New York without a permit?
Some stunning New York elopement spots are surprisingly easy to access without permits. Our couples love waterfront beaches on Long Island, iconic city views in Brooklyn, and hidden gems in Central Park. We guide you through which locations require permits and which don’t — and we’ll even handle the paperwork if needed.
-
How much does it cost to elope in New York?
Elopements with Pop-Up Vows start at $800 for officiant services and scale up based on photography, content creation, and luxury extras. Our Signature Elopement Package (officiant + 2 hours of photography) is $1,980. We also offer custom, luxury packages that include ceremony setups, arches, florals, and more.
-
Do I need a marriage license to elope in New York?
Yes — every legal wedding in New York requires a marriage license from the City Clerk or Town Clerk. The license costs $35–$40 and has a 24-hour waiting period. Pop-Up Vows walks you through the entire process so nothing gets missed.
-
Can I have guests at my elopement?
Absolutely. Most of our couples bring 2–10 guests, sometimes up to 25. We’ll help you find venues and ceremony spots that feel intimate while still accommodating your closest people.
-
Do you provide photography and video?
Yes. Every Pop-Up Vows package can include professional elopement photography, candid content creation for TikTok/Instagram, or both. Our couples love the option of sneak-peek reels and “Forever Edit” same-day highlights.
