Real love, Real weddings, Pop-Up Vows

Small weddings deserve the spotlight. I make sure yours feels effortless, elevated, and actually enjoyable.

Hi, I’m Lauren.

I’m the founder and lead wedding officiant behind Pop-Up Vows — where elopements and micro weddings are treated like the main event (because they are).

We specialize in NYC + Long Island elopements, intimate ceremonies, and micro weddings, with options that include photography and content creation — so you get the magic and the proof.

Pop-Up Vows began during Covid, when couples were being told to pause their lives and cancel their weddings. I watched people get heartbroken over timelines and guest counts, and I thought: why should love wait?

So I built a way to get married beautifully — without the circus.

Today, I spend my days marrying incredible humans in meaningful places: beaches, city parks, iconic estates, backyards, and our own Long Beach Elopement Suite — always with calm energy, a solid plan, and a ceremony that feels like you.

The Pop-Up Vows Manifesto

  • We believe intimacy is luxury.

  • We believe your wedding should feel like peace, not pressure.

  • We believe simple can still look cinematic.

  • We believe the best weddings aren’t performed — they’re felt.

  • We believe you don’t need 200 opinions to make a lifelong decision.

  • We believe the details matter, even when the guest list is small.

  • We believe your day should run smoothly and look effortless.

  • We believe love deserves a plan — not a production.

How do I apply for a marriage license in NYC?

  1. Complete the online marriage license application process. This part of the application process hasn’t changed so if your marriage license has expired then this will feel very familiar. If you haven’t completed this application process before, this is where you fill in all of your identifying information.

  2. Once you submit your application process, you’ll receive a confirmation number that you need to hold onto in order to submit your Project Cupid application.

  3. Create a NYC.ID account if you don’t already have one in order to log into Project Cupid.

  4. Log into NYC’s Project Cupid and enter the Confirmation number you received in step one of this whole process.

  5. From there, you’ll need to upload photo identification like a driver’s license or passport. CLICK HERE to review all the acceptable forms of ID.

  6. You’ll pay the $35 fee online and schedule a date/time to meet with the City Clerk virtually to review the accuracy of the information you input during step one, to verify that you really do match your photo IDs, and that you’re both currently in New York State.

  7. The City Clerk will send your marriage license online.
